| In this article we will explore
several problems that slow down your PC and we will also suggest
you some solutions.
Problem: Not enough RAM memory
or Processor Speed
This is one of the most known problems. Depending of the Operating
System you are using we recommend you to have:
| Windows 98 / Me |
Memory
64 MB (or more) / CPU PII 120 Mhz (or better) |
| Windows 2000 |
Memory 128 MB (or
more) / CPU PIII 700 Mhz (or better) |
| Windows XP |
Memory 256 MB (or
more) / CPU P4 1.8 Ghz (or better) |
Problem: Virus or Spyware on
your system.
The internet is a wonderful tool, but in the recent years
an invasion of Virus and Spyware have been slowing down our
computers. Spyware sometimes count in the order of hundreds
of program running on you computer without your knowledge
and authorization. We suggest you to find a good Antivirus
Software and also an Anti-Spyware utility.
Problem: Hard Disk Failure.
One of the worst case scenario problems, but also most common
than we would like it to be. Always keep backup copies of
your important files on CDs or DVDs. If your motherboard BIOS
have the option to activate the SMART technology to detect
possible Hard Disk failures, make sure to enable it: it will
advise you to backup data and replace the Hard Disk before
it is too late.
Problem: Windows XP registry is damaged.
It is not easy to diagnose this problem. Windows XP saves
a lot of information into an special file called "the
registry". This file can become corrupted, specially
when a program installation is not completed or similar errors.
The most recommended solution to this problem is to backup
your data and reinstall the Operating System.
